UK, Spiceworld surpassed its
distributor's estimates of 30,000
first-day sales, moving 55,000 units on
its first day of release.
AIRPLAY
Between
1996 & 1997 the girls got 750, 000
airplays (700,000 in the US alone!) with
stations like Energy 101 in Canada making
it #1. . Say You'll Be There got 1, 735
radio plays in just one week in the UK
alone! Also the music videos were on
heavy rotation on channels such as Much
Music (Wananbe was #1 for three weeks on
their countdown and Say You'll Be There
entered at #21 then lept to #12 the next
week.) and The Box (Wannabe was #1 for
weeks and weeks and recieved the most
requests ever by the channel!).
