The girls looks in 1997 changed as the girls stardom grew and they were no longer wearing clothes that looked ordinary, their styles evolved into a sleeker, yet still obtainable by fans, look.

The girls really played up their indivdual style - and added more trademark things that were instantly copied by fans.

In 1997, Geri was usually in tight dresses with the hotpants still making appearances! The shoes got bigger with the buffallo boots and her hair was occasionally crimped!

In 1997, Victoria was mostly seen in a little strapless dress - usually Gucchi - her 2 peice outfits still made appearances though, her bob got lighter and shorter until the end of 1997 when she atarted wearing hair pieces - one was a long ponytail, the other was a fuller, longer style.

In 1997, Emma was seen more in T-shirts and pants and also tighter, sexier dresses. Her boots got bigger (she even fell over on stage at the EMA's!) and her pigtails were replaced by a ponytail with either pink or blue in the tips!

In 1997, Melanie C was usually seen in tank tops and pants, with her now trademark Nike trainers. She started to wear her hair out more and aquired a gold tooth!

In 1997, Melanie B was still in two piece outfits - but with now with animal prints that became her trademark. Toward the end of the year she began another trademark - her horn hairstyle (Her hair bound into a horn like style) and her knee length boots!
