FIRST AUSTRALIAN SPICE SNIPPET |
||||||
This was in this weeks TV Week from Molly Meldrum: Alongside Eternal, another all-girl British band having success are Spice Girls. While Peter Andre's Mysterious Girl stayed in the volatile UK Top 10 for 10 weeks (which is a fantastic achievement), Spice Girls have stunned the UK critics by staying at number 1 for four weeks with their debut single, Wannabe. The group - who are like a Brit version of Girlfriend (an early 90's Aussie pop group) - knocked Gary Barlow from the top spot and managed to keep Robbie Williams from going to number 1. The Spice Girls are Melanie C, 20, Victoria, 21, Melanie B, 20, Geri 21 and Emma, 18. They say "We Want to be relevant to girls our own age; we want them to join our gang." And it's working, with heaps of people adding some Spice to their lives! |
