DANIELLE BROWN DOESN'T WANT TO B A SPICE GIRL

Mel B's sister doesn't want to be a Spice Girl. Danielle (16 years old) looks like her sister Mel B, and they have both sung and danced since they were 3 years old. But even though Danielle, who also plays keyboard and drums, have all these talents, she doesn't want to be a Spice Girl or join a band. "People would just say that I copy my sister", says Danielle who just got accepted by a model agency, without telling anyone about her famous sister.

MORE ON SPICE SPRAY

The company which will be manufacturing the deodorants will be Impulse and the deo should be on sale from next month, and will go for £2.09. Geri's will have a Red Pepper scent, and Mel B's will have a hint of Paduk Wood.

BAD NEIGHBOUR SPICES

Spice Girls were recently voted as bad neighbors by over 32 people. They said that they really, really lowered the tone of the street.

SPICE GIRLS DO NOT ATTEND AWARDS CEREMONY

Controversy surrounded this year's Mercury music Prize Ceremony, when acts such as Prodigy, Radiohead and The Spice Girls chose not to attend, even though they were in the running for the top album prize. At the end of the day, outsider Roni Size got the award for his new drum and base album.

SMELL LIKE A SPICE GIRL

According to a recent news bulletin, the Girls' new deodorant will go on sale in the next few weeks.
There are five different sprays, all with a hint off something similar to each of the Spice Girls' personality.

Emma's has a hint of vanilla
Victoria's has a hint of jasmine
Mel C's has a hint of tangerine

We aren't too sure about the other two, but Mel B's has a hint of some sort of scented wood. We aren't sure of Geri's at all.

SPICE GIRLS FLEE TO AVIOD TAX BILL

The Girls are allegedly leaving Britain for Austria to avoid a potential tax bill of £32 million, reports the Daily express. Close friends say that the Girls are upset about their self-imposed exile, but it does leave a very bad example to taxpayers who earn far less than they do.

This year alone, the Girls earned about £8M EACH, and this figure could double in 1998. With tax being at 40%, they could end up with a tax bill of about £32M. Because they would be in Austria, they wouldn't owe the British taxman a thing, and £32M could go a long way in supporting underfunded educational and medical institutions.

MEL C'S BROTHER CRASHES HER NEW SLK

Mel C's 17 year old brother, Paul was rushed to hospital after he crashed her brand new SLK which was given to each of the Girls by Mercedes after the Girls helped then launch their new McLaren F1 Formula car. Each of the cars was customized to each of the Girls' specification.

Paul O'Neil is Mel's half brother, and apparently he drove the 2,3 liter sportscar,capable of doing 140mph into a lamppost in Warrington, Cheshire. He said " Mel will batter me for this - she hasn't even driven the motor herself yet. Its been built to her specification, and now its a mess."

An eye-witness said,"I think he is worried about Mel's reaction than anything else. I bet she won't let him borrow her car again". Mel C only got her drivers license a few days ago, and hadn't even had a chance to drive the car herself!

SPICE GIRLS RECORDING NEW ALBUM

Almost a year after The Spice Girls burst into the music scene, they have been back in the recording studio doing their new album. They were seen leaving the Olympic Studios is Barnes, near London.

The Girls were surrounded by security, but did sign some autographs for passers buy, and finally left in separate cars at about 18h30 on Tuesday night. Geri wore a pink, white and blue flowery dress, Mel C wore a white T-shirt and blue tracksuit pants and top and Emma wore a pink, green and blue patterned dress.Victoria wore a black dress, and Mel B a white T-shirt and trousers.

Other artists that have recorded at Olympics include U2, Eric Clapton and the Rolling Stones.

JEALOUS OASIS FUEL OASIS/SPICE BATTLE

Oasis' new album is due for release tomorrow, and Mr. Whack-The-Photographer, Liam Gallagher said "The only people who care about the Spice Girls, are four year old school girls. Their music is nothing. They are a pre-fabricated pop-product". Gallagher's outburst follows an interview with Mel C last week when she laughed off Noel Gallagher's comments that Oasis were bigger than God. "What does that make us?", she said. "Bigger than Buddha? Because we're a darn sight bigger than Oasis"

Oasis is being outsold by a bunch of talented, fun-loving females who haven't even been public for as long, so its quite obvious why Liam and Noel only really pick on them.

SPICE TO THE RESCUE

The Spice Girls are now backing a bid to treat dumb Nikki Brice, aged eight. The special treatment involves swimming with dolphins and is only available in the USA. The child's mom is delighted, as this could be his last chance to speak. The Girls will try and raise 10 000-pounds for the treatment.

ONE MEL OF A HOUSE!

Mel B is apparently interested in Michael Caines 2-million-pound mansion in Oxforshire. The house was put on the market last week, and Mel B has apparently been around to see it.

ANOTHER SPICEY DRIVER

Mel C finally past her driving test on Monday, and because she was so worried about it, she only told the others once she had done it! She is still too nervous to take out her brand new Mercedes Benz SLK which her, and each of the other Girls got when they finished their new movie.

SPICEY RUMOURS AND GOSSIP

Here are a few little stories I have heard this week: Firstly, Geri & Mel B were desperate for a pee while at a hotel in Thailand, and because they could find any toilets, they squatted on some towels in the corner of a room.

Geri came up to actor, Alan Cummings who is playing a TV producer while she was wearing a head spinning silver suit and asked him if she could see his underwear!

Mel B is apparently sick of having kiss and tell relationships - when guys see her for a while and go straight to the tabloids. She says that in future, she will make her boyfriends sign unofficial secrets contracts!

A UK paper reported that Victoria is going for elocution lessons, because she isn't posh enough! Apparently, she can get away with less than perfect pronunciation while singing, but not while they were filming their movie. The paper also says that she need a little lesson on etiquette when they referred to the time she took her undies off in a taxi and threw them out of the window! (What's wrong with having a little fun?

On the 1st of August the Girls had finished the filming of their new movie, and they have now completed two music videos from their up-and-coming album, "Spice World". Can't wait to see them!

SPICE GIRLS TO MEET NELSON MANDELLA

The Spice girls are to do a concert in South Africa for Nelson Mandella. He is apparently a big fan, and the concert was made possible by Price Charles, who apparently just asked the girls to help out at this charity event. Naturally, they jumped at it.

NEW SPICE RELEASES ANNOUNCED

The Girls' next single will be called "Spice Up Your Life", will be the first off their second album, entitled "Spice World". The single will be released with an as-yet undetermined track from their current album.

Many confused parents of teenagers are now going back to school to learn about.......The Spice Girls! No, really, a community center in Britain is running an 8 week workshop to educate parents about the marketing of pop groups, and what effect it has on their kids.

SPICE TO BE EVERYWHERE!

The Spice Girls said recently that they have applied for over 100 trademarks on various products. In the not too distant future, you will be able to drink Spice Girls beer, eat Spice Girls Jelly after you clean your teeth with Spice Girls toothpicks. You might even be able to drive a Spice Girls car! An officer at the British Patents office said. "I have never seen a band apply for so many trade marks. They have applied for more trademarks than the Beatles or The Rolling Stones."," Normal bands just apply for trademarks for posters and pop merchandise such as T-shirts and badges.". But the Girls' list ranges from fruit juices and cakes to bikes and umbrellas. The kitchen sink isn't included yet, but give it a little more time

EX-BROS STAR GIVE SPICE GIRLS ADVICE

Luke Goss, ex-Bros drummer says that the Spice Girls could last for many, many years to come, if they are just patient. Goss who is now 22 left Bros in '92 after having 15 hit singles and he is now starring as Danny in the West End production of Grease.

"They will have a much longer career than any other teen band if they do one thing be patient. They should insist they don't want to grow any bigger than they are and will have a huge desire to write about the things they experience. The temptation is to grow beyond their audience and simply find yourself too far ahead.
The trick is to be aware of your audience. They need to diversify in a couple of years' time and make their fans aware of that. If you are a truly creative person, money can't be your God.", said Goss.

SPICEY RUMOURS AND GOSSIP

Here is some gossip that I have been hearing lately, and I don't think that most of it is true. Firstly, Emma is dating a stripper (Nah!), Victoria is going to a speech school to learn to speak more posh (why?), Geri hasn't had sex in 9 months because she thinks that her partners will go to the tabloids (fair), and something about Mel B having an operation so she wont have to wear specs (???).

MTV Europe showed MTV Albums with the Spice Girls debut album SPICE yesterday. It featured all their videos and an exclusive live performance of Say You'll Be There for MTV Europe.
