SPICE
GIRLS DRUG APPEARING
|
Apparently
there is a new ecstasy
tablet in England which
is called "Spice
Girls". The police
said it's really
dangerous because they
contain Ephedrine,
Diazepam, and Ketamine
which produce a euphoric
effect followed by a
"knock-out
effect" of memory
loss and possible
unconsciousness. A
spokesman at Virgin said
"We have no comment
to make on this
subject."
The Spice Girls, Mel C,
Mel B, Geri, Victoria and
Emma, have warned:
"Don't do drugs. You
get high on life not on
drugs."

SPICE
GIRLS UK TOUR DATES
ANNOUNCED
|
The
dates for the British
part of the Spice Girls
World Tour were announced
over the weekend. The
tour will start in
Glasgow, (Scotland) on
May 4th and 5th. They
then move south, before
reaching Wembley Stadium
in London for
performances on Tuesday
14th, Wednesday 15th,
Saturday 18th, Sunday
19th, Tuesday 21st,
Wednesday 22nd, Saturday
25th, and Sunday 26th
April. They will then go
abroad for the European
leg of the tour.
Tickets
are NOT available. They
are only being given to
members of the Spice
Girls database, but you
had to be a member before
June this year to
qualify. If, by some
miracle, the demand does
not use up all the
tickets, then they will
be put on general
release, but this will be
very close to the concert
dates, and prices and
demand will be enormous.
For
more information about
the tour, phone 0891
232032. This is a U.K
premium number, and may
not work for
international callers.
The
Spice Girls advert for
Walkers Crisps, which was
banned from British T.V.
last week for being too
racy for a young
audience, is to be shown
on Channel 4's The Bigger
Breakfast tomorrow
morning. It will be shown
three times, at 7.30,
8.05, and 9.45 in the
morning. Walkers had
previously been ordered
to cut out all the
suggestive dialog, and
cut the ad from 30
seconds to under 10
seconds in order to make
it suitable for a young
audience.
Meatloaf
has been signed up to
take Frank Bruno's place
in Spice The Movie. All
Frank's scenes as the
driver of the Spice bus
will be re-shot with
Meatloaf playing the
part. A spokesman said
that they just hope
Meatloaf doesn't drive
"like a bat out of
hell"

TOO
SPICEY?
|
A
new Walkers' crisp
advert, which unites
"nice guy" Gary
Lineker and pop stars the
Spice Girls, has been
banned from daytime
television because it is
considered too
"raunchy". The
30-second advert, the
latest in a series
featuring the former
England soccer captain,
has been deemed too
suggestive by the
Broadcasting Advertising
Clearance Center, which
vets commercials before
they go on air.
The Spice Girls' latest
advertising campaign
coincides with the
announcement of a 1998
European tour, including
performances at Glasgow,
Manchester, London and
Birmingham.
The controversial advert
shows Lineker slowly
walking past a Spice
Girls line-up, each
adorning herself over the
rail in an alluring pose
trying to tempt him from
his quest for a packet of
the new-flavored Cheese
and Chive crisps.
They softly whisper to
him, including the
disputed line from Mel C:
"Have you scored
lately?". Another
line deemed unsuitable,
asked by Mel B, was:
"Wanna play
ball?"
The advert will now be
screened only in the
evenings after the 6pm
watershed. New 10-second
and 30-second
"clean"
versions with no dialogue
will be shown during the
daytime.
Lineker is seen to snatch
the pack of crisps from
Mel B's grasp, saying:
"This is what I
want, what I really,
really want!". The
advert for the crisps,
which went on sale on
July 14, will be screened
from July 23 for five
weeks.
The packs will also
feature the Spice Girls
on the cover, with each
starring on their own
limited edition packs.
The British dates for the
Spice Girls' tour are
between April 4, 1998,
and May 6, 1998.
A spokeswoman for Walkers
said the snacks company
was "obviously
disappointed" by the
BACC's decision, but it
had to abide by the
rules.
She added that the two
new adverts, which have
music rather than words,
were "just as good a
product" as the
original and the campaign
had "not been
ruined".
The BACC's decision is
thought to have been
influenced by the Spice
Girls' popularity among
youngsters.

SPICE
GIRLS MAKE AD FOR WALKERS
|
|
The Spice
Girls have just finished
filming their latest
advert, this time for
Walkers Crisps,
co-staring Garry
Lineker(who ever he
was!). Details are very
vague at the moment, so
watch this space for more
info, but the closing |
| line
is, predictably enough,
"So that's what he
wanted, what he really,
really wanted..." O.K.
this news is a couple of
days old, but the
continuing saga of Frank
Bruno...
The
British media and most
other people, such as
D.J.s Dr.Fox and Chris
Tarrant are slating Frank
Bruno for being extremely
petty and stupid in the
way he has announced this
"travesty". It
was ONLY a picture!
His
departure from the film
has not worried the
girls, who have been
filming at the Albert
Hall in London all week.
Victoria got to drive the
bus after Frank's
departure; something she
has always wanted to do,
so David Beckham had
better watch out, or she
will be conducting him
all the time.

NO
SPICE FOR BOXERS SON
|
It
was reported yesterday
that Frank Bruno has quit
the girls movie after he
was not allowed to have
his sons' picture taken
with the girls. He was
apparently kept waiting
for ages, and then told
by security guards that
the girls were too busy
to take the time out for
the picture. The very sad
fact about this story is
that the girls probably
didn't even know all this
was going on. If Frank
had actually asked them,
then the outcome would
surely have been
different.
The
last tale we had of the
girls not being told
about requests was about
a month ago, when they
were not told about the
poor young girl dying in
hospital, who's only wish
in the world was to meet
the Spice Girls. The
British media refused to
get involved in that
issue, but were quick
enough to cover a similar
incident last week. Make
of that what you will.

NO
SPICE FOR BOXERS SON
|
| The
former world heavyweight
boxing champion Frank
Bruno who plays the
girls' bus driver in
their movie tried to take
his 2 year old son
Franklin to meet the
Spice Girls on the set of
the Spice movie but a
security guard barred him
from taking a photograph
with the girls and asking
for an autograph. Bruno
told the newspaper
"The girls probably
didn't even know I was
there but how the hell
does it make me feel? I
suppose the security guy
was only doing his job.
But now I'm doing mine as
a father. I was so choked
up and humiliated I
didn't know what to do.
Driving home with
Franklin so upset was one
of the worst things I've
ever had to do." He
said the girls hurt him
more than Mike Tyson in
his two fights. |

SPICE
GIRLS ON THE OZONE.
|
There
was a very good and
interesting special about
the Spice Girls on
"The O Zone" on
BBC1 yesterday. It
featured an exclusive
interview and Emma said
she's not going out with
anyone from Boyzone!
Emma's ex-boyfriend, Carl
Morgan, has been jailed
for 27 months. He'd been
driving driving
dangerously with alcohol
and without an insurance
on Christmas last year.
The Spice Girls are
officially on the Queen's
honors list this year for
their achievements in the
music industry!
There have been some
rumors that Victoria
could be leaving the
group but she personally
said it's not true.

Today
is Wannabe's first
birthday. The single was
released on July 8th last
year ! The album
"Spice" has
sold more than 15 million
copies since then.
The girls
have broken just about
every record in the music
business, and have become
the most successful
british band since the
Beatles. Infact, they
have achieved things that
even the Beatles didn't.
Here are
just a few of their
achievements:
|
|
|
- First ever
band to have four
consequtive number 1
singles.
- First
british band to have
their debut single go
straight in at number 1.
- Their
debut album, Spice, went
triple platinum within
the first week. Eight
months later it is still
selling 400,000 copies a
week.

british band to have
their debut single go to
number 1 in the U.S.A.

british band to have
their debut album go to
number 1 in the U.S.A.

Hits Awards.
- Two BRIT
Awards.
- Two Ivor
Nuvello Awards.
- One Pepsi
blue disk, the only band
in the world to have won
this title so far.
- The girls
are worth an estimated
£10m each.
- They are
busy filming their first
film, Spice The Movie,
recording their second
album, and are about to
film the remake of the
1950's t.v. classic St.
Trinians.
- They have
signed advertising /
endorsement deals with
Pepsi Cola and Walkers
Crisps.
They
are going to perform
their first live concert
in September in Turkey.
The
world tour starts in
February, with loads of
dates in Britain.
One
of them has got engaged,
15 boyfriends have told
their stories to the
press.
They
have gained numerous
tribute bands, even the
bishop of Coventry can
name all five of them.
They
have become the most
successful british band
ever, and the most
successful international
girl band ever.
They
are still enjoying life,
and still maintain that
Britain is the best place
in the world. They have
become icons for hundreds
of thousands of fans, and
are truely an
international band, with
their first official book
being translated into
over thirty different
languages.
They
are still as popular as
ever; just look at how
many web sites exist
supporting the girls.
One
last message,
Emma,
Geri, Mel C., Victoria,
Mel B. we all love you!
