Victoria Adams revealed
her expanding bulge as she popped out in
a maternity outfit with a difference.
Five-months pregnant Victoria, wore just
a skimpy crop top, short leather jacket
and tight black trousers. The star
mum-to-be slipped on the unusual outfit
to make an impression on a few other
kids. She and soccer ace fianc David
Beckham, were visiting a group of sick
children in hospital. The couple went to
see six youngsters in Booth's Hall
Children's Hospital in Blackley, Greater
Manchester.

to the children to have such a visit from
the most famous names in soccer and pop
music. "It shows what a caring side
they both have." |

| HAVE A SPICE
BIRTHDAY SIR |
|
Geri Halliwell
has performed in public for the first
time since leaving the group, singing
Happy Birthday to Prince Charles. Taking
a leaf out of the book of Marilyn Monroe,
who famously sang Happy Birthday to
President Kennedy in 1962, Geri delivered
a breathy |
| unaccompanied version of
the song for the Prince's 50th birthday.
She took to the stage of London's Lyceum
Theatre in a voluminous blue gown, and
ended her performance by blowing kisses
to the heir to the throne, the Daily Mail
reported. The Prince was said to have
personally asked Geri to appear at the
star-studded concert, which raised funds
for his Prince's Trust charity. He became
friends with the one-time Ginger Spice
after meeting her at a charity concert,
and sent her a personal note when she
quit the chart-topping band in May. The
concert also featured appearances by
Robbie Williams, Sir Elton John, Roger
Moore, Rowan Atkinson, M People, Mel
Smith, Griff Rhys Jones, Stephen Fry and
the Prince's favourite funnyman Spike
Milligan. The show will be broadcast by
ITV on November 14 - the date of the
Prince's actual birthday. |

| SPICE CAR |
It was reported that Mel C bought
her younger brother(Paul) a high performance
sports car after telling him to choose any car he
wanted at a car show. He had a nice selection
including a £233,000 Aston Martin, a Ferrari, a
Rolls Royce, and he had gone to the show wanting
a BMW. In the end he chose a black £29,950 2.5
litre Trident Ventura of which there are only 250
manufactured each year. The car can go from 0 to
60mph in 6.2 seconds and has a top speed of
155mph. The car show was at the National
Exhibition Centre 2 days ago.

| SPICE GIRLS
FAVOURITES FOR CHRISTMAS #1 |
Record store HMV has predicted
that the Spice Girls will make it three years in
a row and top the Christmas singles chart. The
girls' seasonal single Goodbye will face tough
competition from Boyzone's I Love The Way You
Love Me. And Christmas chart-topping veteran Sir
Cliff Richard will also be in the race with Vita
Mia, BBC Radio 1's The Net reported.

| VICTORIA ASKED TO
LEAVE STORE |
Victoria was once again thrown out
of an establishment recently. She was in a branch
of the WH Smith stores to purchase some wrapping
paper. As she tried to pay for it she was mobbed
by fans that had noticed her and wanted an
autograph. She started signing them and a line
quickly built up. The line was considerably long
and after a small amount of time the manager of
the store asked her if she would move out of the
way because she and her line of fans were
blocking other customers from making purchases.
Allegedly after asking her 3 times to move the
manager finally asked her to leave as she was
still signing autographs. Some say that Victoria
swore at the manager and left. Either way she was
rather embarrassed at the whole incident as she
left the store.

| SPICE GIRLS FIGHT
FOR CAPTURED ELEPHANTS |
The Spice Girls and American
rocker Chrissie Hynde have taken up the cause of
30 young captive elephants in South Africa,
appealing to President Nelson Mandela to help
return the pachyderms to the wild. The elephants
were captured in neighboring Botswana's Tuli
Reserve last year as part of a population control
move and were sold to Riccardo Ghiazza, a wild
animal trainer of South African-based African
Games Services. ``I pray that their walk to
freedom will not be as long as yours was,''
Hynde, who fronted the rock band the Pretenders,
said in a letter to Mandela.
The Spice Girls, who met the South African
president last year, said in their letter:
``Please help these frightened baby elephants
feel the comfort and love of their mothers once
again.'' A South African court has granted the
Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals
(SPCA) custody of the animals at a compound
outside Pretoria after questions were raised
about the conditions in which they were held.
Ghiazza has appealed the court decision,
prompting a magistrate to order an on-site
inspection by independent experts. The Spice
Girls also called on Mandela to ask Botswana to
ban further captures of elephants in the large
but sparsely populated country.

| VICTORIA'A LEGAL
THREAT |
Pregnant Posh Spice, Victoria
Adams, is threatening legal action over reports
that her fiance David Beckham had been
unfaithful. Earlier this month, it was reported
that the Manchester United football star had had
secret dates with Page Three model Emma Ryan, 23.
The trysts are said to have taken place while Ms
Adams, 24, who is five months pregnant with
Beckham's baby, was away on the Spice Girls'
world tour and ended when she returned from
America.
In another report, it was alleged that Beckham,
23, was still "in touch" with a former
girlfriend. Speaking for the first time about the
reports, Ms Adams told the Daily Mail:
"I trust David 110%. I've found the person I
want to spend the rest of my life with.
"These stories are so ludicrous that we are
going to take legal action. "The truth is we
are stronger than ever and both looking forward
to having the baby. The reports haven't damaged
our relationship at all. "The only thing
that matters is that we love and trust each other
and our families are okay. "If people want
to believe what they are reading, that's up to
them."
Posh and Beckham announced their engagement in
January but said they would get married until the
summer of next year. The Spice Girls are
currently working on their third album - their
first without Ginger Spice Geri Halliwell.
In
other news - Emma and Mel C are to present an
award at the MTV Europe Music Awards.

| GERI BECOMES A
U.N. AMBASSADOR |
Former Spice Girl Geri Halliwell
is to follow in the footsteps of Audrey Hepburn
by becoming a goodwill ambassador for the United
Nations. Ms Halliwell, 26, is due to meet with UN
Secretary-General Kofi Annan in New York on
Tuesday to discuss taking on the role. Sir Elton
John was reported as having cancelled an
appointment with Mr Annan last week because of
"overwork". It was intended that he
become a "messenger of peace" to
publicise the UN's campaigns against Aids through
the charities he has set up to combat the
disease.
Halliwell's role will be to help combat the
spread of Aids by promoting safer sex. Busy with
other charity work She has been busy with other
charity work since she left the Spice Girls in
May. In September she agreed to front a breast
cancer awareness campaign, and spoke of the
breast cancer scare that she went through when
she was 18. She said then: "It's really nice
to be able to give something back. I'm an
energetic person, I'm a real worker. If I can
make a difference I'm happy to do that."
Last week she travelled to Uganda to make a film
for Comic Relief. Hollywood legend Audrey Hepburn
was a UN ambassador, but Halliwell has a long way
to go before she matches the example of actor Sir
Peter Ustinov.
In August, the UN's Secretary-General paid
tribute to Sir Peter's 30 years of working with
the UN. "His qualifictions are
unbeatable," Mr Annan said. "He speaks
French, German, English, Italian, Russian,
Spanish and even some Turkish and Greek. He could
double as a representative of all the member
states." Other British celebrities working
for the UN include Robbie Williams who travelled
to Sri Lanka recently with veteran rock star Ian
Dury on a Unicef mission.

| EX-SPICE GERI
HALLIWELL SIGNS RECORD DEAL |
Former Spice Girl Geri Halliwell
is returning to a pop career, according to a
newspaper report. Ms Halliwell, 26, has signed
with Chrysalis Records, the Sun newspaper
reports. She is believed to have picked the label
after seeing how former Take That heart-throb
Robbie Williams's solo career took off with
it.The contract is thought to be for three
albums.
If the report is true, it will come as a surprise
to pundits who believed she was trying for a
career in TV or Hollywood. She had been linked
with a movie remake of the Charlie's Angels TV
series, and DJ-turned-media mogul Chris Evans had
reportedly been advising her on her career.
Her Spice Girls contract with Virgin prevented
her from releasing any new material for three
months - but she is set to announce the new deal
next week, according to the paper.
Halliwell quit the Spice Girls at the end of May
while the group were midway through their
Spiceworld tour. Since leaving the group she has
kept a relatively low profile, with one of her
few public appearances being at an auction of her
old Spice outfits in September. Another was at
the American MTV awards in Los Angeles. She has
also supported cancer charities - appearing in a
series of cinema advertisements urging women to
be aware of the risk of breast cancer. When she
was 18, Halliwell suffered a cancer scare.

| SPICE GIRLS
ODDS-ON FOR CHRISTMAS #1 |
With 11 weeks to go until
Christmas, the Spice Girls are bookies
favourites to hold the Christmas number one spot
for the third year in a row. William Hill has
tipped them as 4-6 favourites. Their single,
Goodbye, is released on December 14 and would
give them their third consecutive Christmas
number one following last years Too Much
and Two Become One in 1996.
A spokesman for the bookmaker says,
Weve been tipping the Spice Girls
since Boxing Day 1997. The highest odds
weve had were 8-1 when there were rumours
about the break-up. Odds fell in July when
it was revealed that the act were recording a
Christmas single. Other artists tipped include
Boyzone, All Saints, B*Witched and Cliff Richard.
Although released a few weeks earlier than the
Spice Girls on November 30, the odds for Cliff
Richards cover of Bob Carlisles
international hit Butterfly Kisses may shorten
since the single is expected to perform strongly.
Mariah Carey and Whitney Houstons planned
duet is also likely to be a strong contender.
Spice Girls 4-6
Boyzone 12-1
All Saints, B*Witched 14-1
Cliff Richard, Robbie Williams, Steps 20-1
Billie, Fat Les, Five, Mariah Carey, Whitney
Houston 25-1

| SPICE GIRLS TO
PLAY CHARITY GIG |
The Spice Girls
have agreed to play a Band Aid-style gig
next month to help raise millions for
starving children. The fab four will take
to the stage alongside legendary singer
Stevie Wonder, chart-topping rapper Puff
Daddy and a whole host of other big names
in pop at the gig. The spectacular event
ends speculation that Posh, Baby, Sporty
and Scary would not ever be playing live
again following their dates last month at
Wembley Stadium.
A source close to the girls revealed last
night: "This is going to be a
massive event and the girls just couldn't
refuse when they were offered a place on
the line-up. "They're close to
finalising details and I'm sure there
will be an official announcement
soon."
The gig is being organised by the charity
War Child and will take place at a venue
in West Africa next month. It is set to
be shown on TV all over the world. The
Spice Girls have already played at one
War Child charity show, appearing
alongside opera star Luciano Pavarotti at
a fund-raiser in June. Other superstars,
including U2, Brian Eno and the cast of
telly's Men Behaving Badly, have also
supported the charity.
Emma Bunton and Mel C are going to the
studios to record a duet which will be
released as a single and will also be
featured on the group's third album. Mel
C has already collaborated with Bryan
Adams and sang a duet in L.A. with
Hollywood action man actor Bruce Willis.
And Mel G teamed up with American rap
star Missey Elliot to score a No1 smash
last month with I Want You Back.
The Spice Girls picked up two gongs at
the Disney Kids Awards bash at London's
Old Vic on Sunday. Emma was named
Favourite Pop Star, while Victoria
collected the Fave Female Group award on
behalf of the girls. Posh Spice was at
the event with her hubby-to-be David
Beckham, who was named Favourite Sports
Star. Shrugging off rumours of a rift
between her and the footie ace, Victoria
said at the Disney Channel bash:
"We're fine, things couldn't be
better. I'm really happy and enjoying
myself here. "I've even got a pair
of Disney slippers at home!"

Aparently the situation
between David and Victoria isn't too

an award for best pop star, and David got
an award for Favorite Sports Star.

| POSH AND BECKS
STILL STRONG DESPITE RUMOURS |
Footballer David Beckham's
relationship with Victoria Adams remains strong
despite reports that England ace had secret dates
with a Page Three model, a spokesman for the band
said. The Manchester United midfield star
passionately kissed Emma Ryan in an encounter at
a friend's house after the pair met at a
Manchester restaurant, according to a report in
the Sun. The paper said the trysts took place
while Victoria was away on the Spice Girls' world
tour and ended when she returned from America.
But a spokesman for the chart-topping group said
that the couple were still very much together.

| GERI JOINS COMIC
RELEIF |
Geri Halliwell has become an
official spokesperson for the Comic Relief
charity and is flying to Africa to visit various
projects arranged by the organisation. Film
footage, from the visit, will be broadcast in the
run up to Red Nose Day next March. Geri appeared
with the The Spice Girls in 1997, on the Red Nose
Day TV show, which raised £26 million. Geri also
launched the October Breast Cancer Awareness
Month, this week. She said: 'At the end of the
day, people can perceive me how they want to. I'm
just Geri Halliwell, that's who I am. I'm just
trying to do my best in life'

| MEL C BUYS AN
APARTMENT |
Mel C has reportedly splashed out
£200,000 on a waterfront apartment, ending 24
years of living with her mum. The mega star,
worth millions of pounds, was still in a bedroom
at mother Joan O'Neill's luxury home in Widnes,
Cheshire - which Sporty bought after shooting to
fame - before deciding to finally fly the nest.
But Mel C has moved only 15 miles down the road,
to Liverpool's trendy Albert Dock, a mix of
up-market shops, bars, flats and the Tate Gallery
of the north.
