2004 SUMMARY

Due to not much Spice activity happening in 2004, I have used one page to summarise all the 2004 stories - here it is:

SPICE GIRLS ATTEND BECKHAM CHRISTENING
Posh Spice says the christening of her two sons was a high point in a year of misery - but it still appeared to be a day marred by feuding.

Guest Liz Hurley defied pregnant Victoria's request that women guests wear "modest attire" in an ivory satin off-the-shoulder gown showing maximum cleavage.

Although Geri Halliwell, Emma Bunton and Melanie Chisholm all attended, Mel B was a no-show, nixing rumours of a Spice Girls reunion.

Victoria was also understood to be upset with Elton John about comments he made to a magazine about the "pretty awful" time the Beckhams' marriage had suffered, blaming Posh for not moving to Madrid with David.

'Happy note'

Nevertheless he was made godfather to both Brooklyn, five, and Romeo, two, along with partner David Furnish.

Both David's divorced parents and Victoria's folks attended the christening, at Beckingham Palace in Hertfordshire, although the families are reported to be feuding. Ted Beckham dismissed reports he was initially left off the guest list as "nonsense".

But Posh, who wore an adapted Dolce & Gabbana gown to hide her bump, kept smiling and reportedly told a guest the christening ended the year "on a happy note".

A spokesman for the Beckhams denied they renewed their vows at the event but the couple were said to have spoken of their love for each other while in the chapel.

Loved-up

New godfather David Furnish said he and Sir Elton were taking their responsibilities seriously.:

"For us, given that we don't have children, it's nice to have the opportunity to have kids whose lives you can have an input in," he said.

Geri Halliwell also appeared to be loved-up at the bash - she brought Pop Idol star Darius Danesh as her guest.

There was no invite for David's former boss, Man Utd manager Alex Ferguson - but Tom Cruise was rumoured to be the big star on the guest list. Whether or not he really attended is anyone's guess right now..
